Sega and Creative Assembly's MEDIEVAL: Total War was one of the best historical real time strategy games to hit the market, and now gamers can grab both the original and the Viking Invasion expansion pack with MEDIEVAL: TOTAL WAR GOLD EDITION. Gamers take control of the Roman Empire in MEDIEVAL: Total War. After bringing peace to every corner of their domain, gamers then turn their attention to the barbarians. Gamers must protect their empire while conquering these savages and taking their lands or play as either the Saxons, the Huns, or other factions and try to take down the Romans. While players will have a large number of structures and units to build and control, they will also fight alongside some of history's greatest warriors. Julius Caesar, Attila the Hun, Spartacus, and Hannibal all make appearances in the game and can be the player's best friend or worst nightmare. Of course, as with any RTS, the game focuses on more than just battling. Players also have to keep their citizens happy, make certain they have enough resources to wage war, and promote or discourage religions. Dealing with all of these aspects will give gamers a good idea of what it's like to actually run a huge empire. Fans of real time strategy games like CIVILIZATIONS will enjoy MEDIEVAL: TOTAL WAR GOLD EDITION. The game contains everything a great RTS game should have while adding an interesting historical flavor.
